Artist Statement
My work reflects the stillness and simplicity of life by the sea. Through light, color, and space, I aim to evoke a sense of calm and connection—inviting the viewer to pause, reflect, and feel the quiet strength of the coast.
Land Acknowledgment
As an artist living and painting in the Atlantic region of eastern Canada, I am grateful to work on the traditional, unceded territories of the Mi’kmaq and Wolastoqey Peoples. These lands, shaped by ocean winds and generations of care, are covered by the Peace and Friendship Treaties, which recognize Indigenous rights and title, and were meant to foster lasting relationships between Nations. The light, water, and landscape that inspire my work are part of a place that has long sustained and been protected by Indigenous Peoples. I offer my respect to them and acknowledge their enduring connection to this land and water.
